Americhem Buys Shell Building in Liberty

Colorant Company to Bring Jobs, Growth to Randolph County

Americhem, Inc. acquired the shell industrial building located at 7280 Liberty Park Road in Liberty, NC for $1.25 million, or $14 per square foot, from Liberty Business Park LLC.

The 85,164-square foot industrial facility was built in 2001 and had been vacant since completion. It sits on 11.95 acres in the Liberty Business Park. This is the third property acquired by Americhem in Liberty Business Park.

This sale was part of a phased, multi-property acquisition by Americhem as a result of the One North Carolina Fund, which the state contributed to entice the colorant company to come to Liberty. Americhem is expected to begin building out this new space in 2012, after moving into the other two properties acquired earlier this year.

Americhem, Inc. was founded in 1941 and started out selling fibers and additives to the rubber industry. Today, it is one of the largest manufacturers of custom color concentrates in the world.
