12/01/2011 — ModWood Technologies ‘ range of wood composite decking is manufactured from recycled milk container and non-virgin pine products.

Around 90% of the material content ModWood composite decking is either recycled or reclaimed, and every lineal metre of decking board contains roughly 37 recycled plastic milk bottles and approximately 2 kilograms of reclaimed pine dust.

The AFS (Australian Forestry Standard) certified plantation grown pine dust is a by-product of timber milling, and by using this in the production of composite decking boards, ModWood is helping to conserve native forest timbers.

This environmentally friendly composite decking solution is low maintenance and requires no painting, staining or oiling, avoiding the use of potentially polluting chemicals.

There are no formaldehydes used in the production of ModWood and there is no noticeable VOCs after processing, making ModWood decking ideal for ecologically sensitive areas.

This composite decking also benefits the environment by using recycled and waste products that would otherwise end up in landfill.

ModWood is committed to helping conserve the Australian environment by developing environmentally responsible products.

The company is also a member of the Green Building Council of Australia.
