Rhino Deck Launches Durable Armadillo Capstock Decking Products
Rhino Deck, a manufacturer of decking and railing products supplying product through our distributors to our dealer base is meeting the demand for durable, green, home renovation products with new Armadillo capstock decking.
Online PR News – 25-March-2011 –ALBANY, MN — Rhino Deck is listening to customers who want a long-lasting, durable decking product, but don’t want to use a product that will damage the environment. In response to that demand, Rhino Deck is launching a new product called Armadillo, manufactured by Master Mark Plastics. This capstock decking solution, is the only WPC capstocked product made from 95% or more recycled content, including recycled wood and post-consumer recycled high density polyethylene.
Capstock decking is a PVC hybrid, combining a strong wood and plastic core, all from recycled product, with a durable PVC-based polymer shell. The result is a deck that resists weathering, fading, scratching, mold, mildew, and stains. Rhino Deck also offers a 20 year manufacturer’s warranty on the Armadillo line.
The warranty guarantees that the deck will not rot, splinter, split, or suffer structural damage from fungal decay or termites for 20 years under normal use and conditions. The warranty is also transferrable in the event that the customers sell their home to a new owner.
“The introduction of the Armadillo product into our inventory is very exciting! We’ve been doing our own recycling since 1987, and we’re thrilled to be able to use that recycled material to provide a quality sustainable solution to our customers. Our customers have been telling us that they’d like to see more sustainable and recycled materials and we’re sure they’re going to be pleased with Armadillo decking’s addition to our current product offerings,” said Kelli Bergen, director of marketing for Rhino Deck.
Rhino Deck offers three color choices in the Armadillo decking, all of which would blend with typical home colors. Installation is straightforward, and capstock decking requires much less maintenance than typical wood decks. Armadillo decking can even withstand extreme weather conditions, making it an ideal solution for areas that experience frigid temperatures or a significant amount of freezing and thawing.
“Consumers want decking and outdoor furniture that will retain its aesthetics throughout the lifetime of the product with very little maintenance. The protective capstock on the Armadillo WPC results in a superior product compared to uncapped WPC. These improved aesthetics will enable WPC to compete against high-end alternatives like exotic woods and vinyl,” explains Mark Reum, CEO of Master Mark.
